Breastfeeding

Mother breastfeeding child

Breastfeeding benefits for your infant.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends breastfeeding as the sole source of nutrition for your infant up to about six (6) months. Breastfeeding can continue as long as both the mother and baby are comfortable with it. There are many benefits to both the child and the mother - including improved immune systems, greater connection between mother and child, release of healthy hormones, reduced risk of ovarian and breast cancer, and more. Breastfeeding not only provides excellent health benefits to the child, but also sets the infant up for ongoing healthy growth and development.
